First of all congratulations on your engagement! Many clients are curious about the booking process of a wedding photographer. For many couples, this is their first experience with professional photography. Therefore, I am going to walk you through my exact booking process so you know what to expect while working with me.

Booking Process of a Wedding Photographer

What happens after I reach out?

As a first step, I email my pricing guide with the Collections I offer. Once you click the link in your email, you can get more details on each Collection. To get started, I love to chat with you on the phone to get to know you and your partner better. We’ll talk about your vision for your wedding and what photos are most important to you. We can then use that information to narrow down which Collection suits your needs best. I know this process can be overwhelming so I will follow up via email to answer questions, provide additional resources, and help with planning your day of timeline.

What’s included in your services?

Each Collection comprises of my services as a professional photographer and most include a second professional photographer on your wedding day. An engagement or bridal portrait session is included so that we can get to know each other better. Digital rights to all of your photos and a highlight video are additionally included. This video is especially important right now so you can share the story of your day with family and friends who aren’t able to be at your wedding. My turnaround time for your full gallery delivery is 3-w. This is way faster than the industry average. The number of hours of wedding day coverage included varies depending on the Collection you select.

What goes into your pricing?

Lots of things go into my pricing including the expense and years of education I’ve put into becoming a professional award-winning wedding photographer. My years of experience have helped me truly understand how to get my clients to relax in front of the camera. This results in authentic photos true to them and their love.  I also believe in excellent communication and white-glove client experience from the initial inquiry onward.

What are your credentials?

I majored in photography in University in London and graduated with a B.A. in Visual Communications. I then went on to work at a London fashion studio for 6 years as a portrait photographer. Eventually, I became the manager of the photography team. However, in 2006, I moved back to the United States. Subsequently, I started my wedding photography business. My work has been published in Charleston Wedding Magazine, Wedding Row, Carolinas Magazine, and Black Bride. Not to brag, but I’ve also won lots of awards. Most recently, I won The Knot’s Best of Weddings 2021. Long story short with over 22 years of professional photography experience, I know how to get the best out of my clients and capture your special day!

How do we reserve our wedding date?

After we decide which Collection is best for you, I send a proposal. Once you sign the proposal and pay the 50% retainer, I’m officially booked! The remainder of your balance will be due two weeks prior to your wedding date.  I then do a happy dance, because I’m so thankful you chose me to document this moment in your love story!!
