Wedding Morning Boudoir Portraits

I most definitely think you should incorporate a mini session of boudoir portraits on your wedding morning before stepping into your dress.  But first, let me clarify what boudoir photography actually is.  The word boudoir is French and actually refers to a woman’s bedroom or private dressing room. Boudoir photos are intimate photos usually taken in less clothing than more in a private setting. Your session could be as short as five minutes or as long as thirty.

But you say you have nothing to wear!  That’s not a problem. In fact, you don’t need that fancy lace robe or teddy, a favorite bra and underwear set will suffice, or heck grab your fur throw from your couch. It’s the essence of You that makes these photos magic not what you’re wearing!

Why do Boudoir Portraits?

Ok, but why take boudoir portraits on your wedding morning?  I say why not take advantage of this opportunity? After all , if you’ve already hired a professional photographer for the day you might as well make the most of them.  Furthermore, you’re probably in the best shape of your life, right?! Don’t you want to freeze this moment in time to look back at it in 20 years with pride?  Moreover, you’ve most likely just enhanced your natural beauty by having your nails, hair, and makeup professionally done. Bottom line boudoir portraits are fun and confidence boosting!

What will I do with my Boudoir Portraits?

These photos would make an excellent surprise gift for your partner. Just think you could keep that honeymoon vibe going once you have returned home from your actual honeymoon!  Additionally, just think how confident you will feel when you finally slip on your wedding dress for your bridal portraits on your wedding day. I say go ahead and celebrate your sexy self! It’s time to tell your photographer you’d like to add boudoir portraits on your wedding morning.
