The Growing Trend of Elegant, Small Weddings in Charleston
This sophisticated, intimate wedding at Parcel 32 is perfect for couples looking for elegant, family-focused inspiration for their wedding day. Recently in Charleston, I’ve noticed a growing trend of smaller weddings with fewer guests that still prioritize stunning flowers and beautiful venues.
The Perfect Venue: Parcel 32’s Charm and Style
Reina and Aaron are a couple who love the beach and discovering new restaurants. This made Charleston an ideal destination for their intimate wedding. They exchanged vows during a beach ceremony surrounded by close friends and family before celebrating at Parcel 32. Located in downtown Charleston, SC, Parcel 32 combines a stylish, modern interior with a historic exterior, featuring a charming piazza overlooking King Street. Known for its Southern comfort dishes, fresh seafood, and creative cocktails, this venue perfectly matched Reina and Aaron’s vision with its central location, inviting atmosphere, and sleek decor.
Balancing Time with Loved Ones and Capturing Romantic Photos
The couple wanted to spend as much time as possible with their loved ones during the cocktail hour but still made time for a quick stroll through Charleston’s picturesque cobblestone streets for some intimate newlywed portraits. They then returned to the venue for a relaxed plated dinner and heartfelt toasts. FInally, one of the most touching moments was when Reina surprised her mother with aso bouquet as a thank-you for helping plan the wedding of a lifetime.
For couples who value beautiful photos while savoring time with family and friends, I highly recommend a first look. A first look is a private moment where the couple sees each other before the ceremony. It’s perfect for a nervous or shy bride or groom who prefers a more private reaction when they first see their partner. Afterward, we can take bridal/groom portraits and newlywed photos, allowing us to explore different locations. The couple can also choose to take wedding party and immediate family portraits at this time, before returning to the venue to stay hidden while guests arrive for the ceremony. This approach helps break up the photography into more manageable segments. After the ceremony, I typically capture extended family photos. This timeline often allows couples to fully enjoy their cocktail hour.
