Luxury Charleston Garden Wedding Vision
This editorial luxury Charleston garden wedding was planned by Baylye Burnette of Burnette Events. She chose the historic Governor Thomas Bennett House, because it exemplifies a true Southern old-world sophistication.
Wedding Party
The day began with the model brides getting their hair and makeup professionally done. Once the bride’s dresses from Gown Boutique of Charleston were zipped, they were crowned with Emma Katzka tiaras. I then photographed bridal portraits inside the unique home. Notable interior features of the house include the window alcove and a cantilevered staircase in the grand foyer. This type of staircase is one of two found in the entire city of Charleston.
Roadside Blooms crafted unique floral jewelry necklaces and bracelets for the entire bridal party. A bloom-filled pocket square dressed up the groom’s Michael Kors suit, while the bridesmaids wore lavender and plum dresses from Bella Bridesmaids.
Luxury Garden Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held on the back lawn of the garden opposing a pineapple fountain. Roadside Blooms created a stunning floral archway sprouting with natural wood textures and pastel blossoms. This served as the ceremony’s backdrop. Transparent ghost chairs were used to seamlessly blend the garden into the ceremony.
The exterior of the property had so many enchanting characteristics. For example, there was a large piazza overlooking manicured lawns, a garden full of seasonal plantings, and a 200-year-old oak tree! Because of this, there were multiple locations for photos of the newlyweds!
Cocktail Hour on the Patio
The cocktail hour was hosted on the oyster tabby patio in the courtyard. The French Eclectic furnished the space with plush velvet chairs and a couch. There was also a handmade bar with marquee letter lights. In addition, to the couple’s signature cosmopolitan cocktail there was an impressive champagne tower. Various sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres from Thurston Southern Catering were displayed on an antique sideboard. Lastly. Dessert Designs by Gisela not only supplied the wedding cake, but other goodies stamped with “We Do” as well.
Detailed Filled Luxury Garden Wedding Reception & Exit
A white backdrop displayed the seating chart at the entrance of the garden reception. Two handmade farm tables positioned under an adorned arbor were used for dining. Florals covering both the arbor and tables made it look like a wild spring garden. Furthermore, there were potted plants nestled on top of the table too. At the place setting white embroidered napkins sat under clear glass salad plates which were decorated with rose quartz, flowers, and herb cuttings. Finally, there were pink wine goblets with calligraphed place cards tied to their stems to mark where guests should sit.
At the end of the reception, Lowcountry Valet provided a 1950 gray Packard as a getaway car. The rear of the car nicknamed “Bernard” was completed with a hand lettered banner reading “it was always you!” In conclusion, this luxury garden wedding bursting with numerous high-end details was straight out of a photographer’s dream!
