"Leigh was the best decision ever! I’ve been in LOTS of weddings, and she’s hands down the best photographer I’ve ever encountered. We had to postpone our big wedding celebration that we originally booked her for, and she was so accommodating! We had her come take photos after the small ceremony we ended up having, and it was wonderful! She puts you at ease and gets wonderful shots! All of my family couldn’t stop talking about how wonderful she was!" - Mary-Brett Rocco

Covid Changes Large Wedding to Intimate Charleston Wedding

Mary-Brett & Spencer had their hearts set on getting married in South Carolina. Charleston had always had a special place in Mary-Brett's heart, as she would take family trips there growing up. Unfortunately, Covid changes this destination couple's large wedding celebration into an intimate Charleston wedding.

A Charleston Proposal

Spencer knew that the swings at the Waterfront Park were one of Mary-Brett's favorite spots. Therefore, he figured it would be the best spot to propose. The one problem was the only day they were in Charleston, it was horribly rainy!! With all the rain, Mary-Brett thought Spencer was crazy when he suggested a walk in the city after lunch. They stopped in a coffee shop instead along the way to let the rain pass. Coincidentally, the coffee shop ended up being right by the swings! Mary-Brett actually ended up being the one to suggest they go on them when there was a break in the rain. As they were swinging, Spencer proposed with a gorgeous round solitaire ring. Afterward, the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day!!

Wedding Plans for a Large Celebration

Originally, Mary-Brett and Spencer planned to hold their wedding surrounded by the natural beauty at Oldfield Plantation. This is a fantastic wedding venue located on the water near Hilton Head Island. Unfortunately, due to strict Covid regulations, the couple had to postpone their large wedding celebration until next year. However, they decided to still travel to South Carolina on their original wedding date. The couple held an intimate wedding in Charleston, SC at the Saint James Anglican Church.

Intimate Charleston Wedding

This intimate Charleston wedding was only attended by immediate family.  The bride's super talented mother made the boutineers and gorgeous bridal bouquet. She also plans to create all of the florals for next year's celebration at Oldfield.

Following the ceremony, the couple briefly posed for family photos and newlywed shots.  Afterward, the whole family attended a private reception at the famous 82 Queen restaurant. This intimate Charleston wedding was the perfect solution for this sweet couple's tricky Covid situation.
